Art Deco Reliefs at Portland International Airport

  • 1 min read

Commissioned by Elk Collective, this project involved creating faithful reproductions of two monumental Art Deco plaster reliefs for a speakeasy located within Portland International Airport.

Each relief measures five by five feet. Reproducing the original works at this scale required careful attention to their proportions, sculptural details, and distinctive period character. From the central figures and sweeping lines to the geometric forms surrounding them, every element was recreated to preserve the elegance and visual rhythm of the original designs.

The project was completed on schedule through a smooth and successful collaboration with Elk Collective. The finished reliefs are now permanently installed in the Aurora lounge, where they contribute an authentic Art Deco presence to the space and offer travellers an unexpected encounter with sculptural art.
