Elena: A Legacy Cast in Bronze

The story behind this commission gives the finished sculpture an especially profound meaning.

The portrait began as an item offered at a cancer fundraiser auction, with the winning bid donated directly to charity. When I met the successful bidder, I learned of her deeply personal connection to the cause and her wish to honor her mother, Elena, who had recently passed away. Her desire to preserve Elena’s memory became the heart of our collaboration.

Working from photographs and the stories she shared, I sought to capture more than a physical likeness. My aim was to convey the warmth, character, and love Elena inspired in those around her.
