Royal Canadian Dragoons Mess Hall · Petawawa, Ontario

Commissioned by Covell Brown and the Guild of the Royal Canadian Dragoons, this sculpture of Chippie Kennedy was created for the David Batten Award for Significant Achievement. Presented to the Regiment in David Batten’s name, the award recognizes achievement, distinguished service, and outstanding generosity toward fellow veterans.

David Batten was a former airborne armoured soldier and the Royal Canadian Dragoons’ inaugural Patron. Throughout his years of service, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the Regimental family.

His efforts helped strengthen the Guild, build meaningful partnerships, and provide valuable support to serving soldiers, veterans, and their families. His enduring legacy continues through this award, which recognizes those who embody the same spirit of dedication and selflessness.

It was a great honour to be chosen to create this sculpture and to contribute to a tribute celebrating service, character, and lasting commitment to the Royal Canadian Dragoons.
